Lesson 6: Practical Circuits
Practical circuits assemble those components into power supplies, amplifiers, oscillators and filters.
What you will learn
- G7A Power supplies; schematic symbols
- G7B Digital circuits; amplifiers and oscillators
- G7C Transceiver design; filters; oscillators; digital signal processing (DSP)
1. Read
- Building your own gear: Power supply safetyHelps with G7A
- All 38 G7 questions with their answers and explanationsEvery group, with the rule or source behind each answer
2. Explore
- Schematic symbols
Practice the symbols drawn in exam figure G7-1.
- Low-pass filter designer
Design a low-pass filter for an HF band and see how strongly it attenuates the second harmonic of your transmitter.
3. Practice
Practice one group at a time. A group is ready when you have answered every one of its questions and learned at least 80 percent of them; a question counts as learned when your last three answers to it were correct. To review quickly, go through this lesson’s questions as flashcards.
