General course
10 lessons that cover all 423 questions in the 2023-2027 General Class (Element 3) pool, valid July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2027. Each lesson is one topic of the official syllabus.

Lesson 3: Radio Wave Propagation G3
Propagation explains when and where the HF bands open, which shapes everything you do on HF.
Lesson 4: Electrical Principles G5
Electrical principles return with reactance, decibels and power, which the circuit and antenna lessons rely on.
Lesson 5: Circuit Components G6
Circuit components come next, described in the terms of the electrical principles lesson.
Lesson 6: Practical Circuits G7
Practical circuits assemble those components into power supplies, amplifiers, oscillators and filters.
Lesson 7: Signals and Emissions G8
Signals and emissions cover how modulation and digital modes shape a signal and its bandwidth.
Lesson 8: Antennas and Feed Lines G9
Antennas and feed lines use the reactance and decibel ideas from the earlier lessons.
Lesson 10: Electrical and RF Safety G0
Safety comes last, with the RF exposure check every station needs, either an exemption or an evaluation, and the electrical and tower hazards of an HF station.
Why this order
The General course follows the same shape as the Technician course. The rules and HF operating procedures come first, then propagation, which decides when the HF bands open. The electrical lessons build in sequence: principles, components, circuits, signals and antennas. Station practices and safety come last because they draw on every earlier lesson.
The official syllabus numbers the topics differently. Switch the route to syllabus order to see them as the question pool lists them; the lessons are the same either way.
When a lesson is complete
The exam draws one question from each group in the syllabus, so each lesson tracks its groups. A group is ready when you have answered every one of its questions and learned at least 80 percent of them; a question counts as learned when your last three answers to it were correct. A lesson is complete when all of its groups are ready.
Progress comes from your answers in this browser, wherever you gave them: lessons, study mode, guide quizzes and practice exams.
